Case Study

Stark Future

  • Location: Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain)
  • Staff: Over 100 engineers
  • Industry: Electric Vehicles (EV) – Motorcycle Manufacturing
  • Context: Fastest worldwide growth in the electric motorcycle segment

The challange

Stark Future faced a critical challenge common in fast-growing manufacturing companies: transforming engineering data into production-ready structures without losing control, accuracy, or time.

The company needed to define a Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) based on an Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) and reliably connect this information to its ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics). This process was not automated and relied heavily on manual data entry.

As a result, product structures were prone to errors, inconsistencies, and delays. Engineering and manufacturing teams worked with disconnected data, changes were difficult to track, and the lack of a single source of truth introduced operational risk at a critical stage of the company’s growth.

The solution

ISFsoft Connect was implemented as the integration layer between PLM and ERP, enabling a structured, automated, and controlled data flow between engineering and manufacturing.

The project included:

  • A full pre-analysis phase to define scope, risks, and integration requirements
  • Accurate definition of EBOM-to-MBOM transformation rules
  • Seamless connection between PLM and Microsoft Dynamics
  • A combined PLM and ERP implementation approach, avoiding silos from day one

Service duration: 2 months, including pre-analysis
Implementation approach: full accuracy, no surprises

The focus was not only technical integration, but long-term system reliability and scalability.

Results

For the Customer

  • Laid the foundation for the entire product development system at a critical startup stage
  • Enabled a reliable definition of MBOM from EBOM, fully connected to the ERP
  • Eliminated errors caused by manual data entry during product structure development
  • Achieved instant control over product releases and automated change management
  • Established a single source of truth between PLM and ERP, including full traceability of all changes
  • The result was a controlled, scalable product development process aligned with the company’s rapid growth.

For the Partner

  • Reduced implementation and support risks through structured integration and clear governance
  • Opened new opportunities to extend the solution within the organization, including future projects such as Windchill Process Plan or Illustrate
  • Strengthened customer intimacy by becoming a long-term technology partner rather than a one-off integrator
